Men's Hurdles // Brandon Lemois
When God created man, He gave him a unique identity and purpose in life. God designed a specific role for man to fulfill to order the chaos and cause humanity to flourish, but when sin entered the world, everything became fractured. Now, because of the fall, men still wrestle with particular sins and struggles.

“The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and keep it.”
MAN’S PURPOSE
When men fulfill their purposes in life, humanity flourishes. When men refuse to step into this space, humanity is stunted.
Where the ideal is lacking, grace abounds.

Man’s role in the creative order is to serve as head of the body.
Men are givers -- boys are takers.
The transition to manhood can be found in the transition from being takers to becoming givers.
HEADSHIP (Ephesians 5.15-33)
Headship means, lead giver
Headship is carried out in three ways:
1. CHERISHING LOVE: (Loves his wife, Gave himself up for her)
2. SPIRITUAL DIRECTION: (Washing of the word)
3. PHYSICAL CARE: (As he takes care of his own body)
MAN’S HURDLES (Genesis 3.17-19)
Sin brings holistic death – from ourselves, others, and God.
Sin works itself out in men in two major ways:
1. SELFISH PASSIVITY: (Because you listened)
Ourselves – Our comfort over GOD'S CALL
Others – Our comfort over CARING
World – Our comfort over SERVING
2. SELFISH AGGRESSION: (Sweat of your face)
Ourselves – Our comfort over GOD'S TEMPLE
Others – Our comfort over LOVING
World – Our comfort over STEWARDING

Give Online

The word "tithe" literally means tenth or 10%. Tithing, or giving ten percent of your income, isn't merely giving something to God. It's giving back what was his to begin with. All that we have, or hope to have, comes from him. The Bible says that we worship God with tithing as a reminder that God is the supplier of everything. It teaches us to always put God first in our lives.

Prayer Request?

We believe that Prayer is powerful and can change the world – not just for today but for generations to come. We believe that lives and whole communities are changed forever when we lift up our needs to God in prayer. Please let us know if there is something you would like us to pray for.  (Please specify if this is a private request so it is not distributed on our church-wide e-prayer newsletter)
