Ice Breaker: Are you someone who enjoys tackling a fixer upper project the whole time you are working on it, or only when it's done? Or... do you hate all fixer uppers? Why?
Why do you think some people feel tortured by Religion?
Why do you think some Christians feel defeated all the time?
Read Nehemiah Chapter 8:8-10
Why do you think the people were so sad when they heard the Law read to them in a way they could understand?
Why would Nehemiah and the leaders tell them to stop grieving?
What do you think he meant by saying, "the joy of the Lord is your strength?"
How is God like a good parent who finds joy in helping their children through difficult times?
What difficulty would you love God to help you with right now?
