Discussion and Application Questions for Group Life Communities

We invite you to use the following questions as you prepare for your Group Life community meetings this week. If you would like to participate in a group life meeting contact us at info@pnconline.org. New groups are starting on Monday and Thursday evenings at 6:30pm.

Read John 2:1-11

Observation: (be curious, imagine yourself in the story)
What do you observe about the story?
Who are the characters in the story? What are they doing?
When the wine is running out, how is Jesus notified? What do you notice about his process of restoring the wine to the party?

Interpretation: (uncover the 'why' behind the story, why are certain details included)
What is significant to you about the story?
Why are the characters doing what they are doing?
What is Jesus showing us about God in this story?
What do you think Jesus is pointing to in this sign?

Application: (connect the message to your personal life)
When you feel like you've run out (emotionally, spiritually, financially)
how do you deal with it?
In this passage we see that God is an abundant provider in the midst of crisis. How does this compare with your view of God?
Can Jesus be enough for you? Can you believe that Jesus brings an abundance of forgiveness and restoration for you today?
