Absolute I AM

Absolute I AM

In Exodus 3, when God (speaking out of the burning bush) revealed His name to Moses, He powerfully stated, "I AM." Why is this the name God would choose to identify Himself? What does this tell us about Him? What are the implications for our own lives? And why would Jesus claim this name for Himself? Was He actually claiming to be God? In our I AM series, we'll watch as Jesus uses this "I am" construction multiple times in John's gospel to explain who He is and to challenge people to recognize His divine nature. We'll discover what "I AM" tells us about the character and nature of God the Father and God the Son, and we'll celebrate His greatness together.

We believe that by 2022, through God's grace and power, we will see 2,000 people baptized and growing in relationship with Jesus through the Word, prayer, and community.

How can you play a part? Pray for those who don’t yet know Jesus, and share your life with them so they can experience good news through your words and actions.

Next Week's Text

"I Am the Bread of Life." We're all hungry. Physical hunger is obvious to spot, but we're also emotionally and spiritually hungry. Jesus called his followers to feed on Him in order to satisfy their deepest hunger and thirst. But what does that mean and how should they (and we) do that? This should be understood in light of his claim, "I Am the resurrection and the life." We'll explore these I Am statements and see their significance both then and for us today.
We are planning, as the Lord wills, to lead through communion next week, so please be sure to buy and have ready bread and juice/wine for your communion remembrance.
