A Future Hope - The Resurrection

A. Jesus rose from the dead...
1. Jesus of Nazareth was executed by crucifixion.
3. The apostles believed Jesus had appeared to them in a tangible body...and over 500 others.
4. The Christian church was begun 50 days later!
B. What were the final words of the risen Christ?
1. Jesus met Mary Magdalene and His first concern was for her tears! God cares about your tears and He wants you to find Jesus as He is the answer to the pain in your life!
2. Jesus’ first words were “Don’t be afraid!” His greatest concern was the danger that fear could do to their faith.
3. Jesus cares about the everyday conversations that we are having. What is the focus of those conversations? Do they honor Jesus? Do we talk about the most important thing in our lives?
4. Amidst all that is happening to His disciples, Jesus wanted them to feel His peace! Not the peace of the world…but His peace! His peace is still available to us today!
5. Every question that Jesus brings to our lives is with purpose. There are no details that come to us that are not an opportunity for Him to reveal Himself in our lives.
6. Go! The great Co-Mission of Jesus! Making, baptizing, and teaching..."As you go."
Acts of the Apostles 1:4-5 NLT

7. Jesus promises us the gift of the Holy Spirit to always be with us. We are never alone! He promises us power to face all that is before us and to equip us with that same power to share with those in our world!
1. Jesus came to offer salvation, based on His work, not ours!
2. Jesus came to make your life new.
1. A - Admit that I am a sinner
2. B - Believe that Jesus died for my sin
4. D - Decide to receive Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior
Dear Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I want to turn from my sins. I now invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as Lord and Savior.
In Jesus’ name. Amen
Did you sincerely ask Jesus to come into your heart?
Are you willing to turn from your old life and follow Him?
If you did, then He promises that He is in your life.
This is just the beginning of a wonderful new life in Christ. To deepen this relationship, you should…
1. Read your Bible
2. Talk to God in prayer
3. Tell others
4. Worship with other believers
5. Demonstrate your new life by your love and concern for others
