Resurrection Glory // April 5, 2020
This morning, we are going to look at the resurrection from a few different angles, or attributes, you could say. But above all, while we do this, I’d like us to look at the resurrection this morning through a heart of celebration. After all, that is the whole purpose of Easter for the believer—celebration!

1. RESURRECTION HOPE
We were destined for a death far worse than a physical one. We were destined for an eternity separated from God. But, the HOPE that the resurrection brings to us is a hope that was resurrected from the tomb with Jesus. It is a hope that Peter identifies as a LIVING HOPE.
The Greek word for living literally means to be full of vigor!
To be active, powerful, efficacious, and strong.
"Because we do not have a dead Savior, we have a living hope. The resurrection of Jesus guarantees that God will honor all His promises to His faithful children. That hope keeps us going in the darkest of times."
-Charles F. Stanley, Charles Stanley Study Bible

**Memorize 1 Peter 1:3 -
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Let the truth of those words pour over your soul this week!
2. RESURRECTION VICTORY - FUTURE GLORY
So we see that there is LIVING HOPE found in the resurrection; and that hope we find is through the victory over death that Jesus won for us. And again, this secures our eternity. So in Easter, we celebrate VICTORY.
The Greek word for hope (elpis) means a joyful and confident expectation.
3. RESURRECTION POWER
So far we’ve discussed how the resurrection brings us a LIVING HOPE; and how that LIVING HOPE was brought to us through the VICTORY of Jesus. But how was that victory won? It was won through RESURRECTION POWER.
The resurrection was so powerful that it completely suffocated the finality of death and its hold over us.
The single resurrection—the raising of life from death—has brought forth life from death for all people!
CONCLUSION
In light of present sufferings, I have to wholeheartedly agree with Paul and say it cannot compare! So let us walk with a joyful and confident expectation of the promised future glory, fixing our eyes on our eternal security found in Jesus, won for us in the victory and power of the resurrection.
