Who's Your One?
(16)The 11 disciples traveled to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had directed them. (17)When they saw Him, they worshiped, but some doubted. (18)Then Jesus came near and said to them, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. (19)Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20)teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:16-20
MAKE DISCIPLES
We are privileged for God to love us. With that comes the responsibility to take this love to all nations!
· If we are not careful, as Christians we want all the privileges that come with God’s love yet forsake the responsibility that comes with those privileges.
· We have a debt to every lost person on Earth. I am owed by Christ, so I owe CHRIST to every lost person in the world! Romans 1:14-15
· Our responsibility is to see the Great Commission completed.
God will save people, and His desire is to use you!
· The greatest ability one can possess is AVAILABILITY.
· What are the steps for us fulfilling the responsibility of the Great Commission?
(There are 5 key verbs in this passage.)
a. GO - This verb implies crossing boundaries, (go to neighbors, unsaved friends, invites to dinner…GO AND INVITE YOUR ONE!
b. MAKE – This verb is about “a work in progress. We never arrive as Christians. Helping people take on step closer to Jesus.
c. BAPTIZE – Our whole identity changes when we are saved!
d. TEACH – the verbiage here literally means "keep on teaching"…maturing in our spiritual journey is a never-ending journey…the best way to learn is to teach, when we teach, we go!
e. REMEMBER – THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD IS WITH US EVERY SINGLE STEP OF THE WAY!
The Great Commission is an Act of Worship.
· Some doubted while they were worshipping.
· Doubt causes us to hesitate.
· Doubt will cause us to hesitate DOING the Great Commission!
· SO, how do we deal with doubt?
By Going, Making, Baptizing, Teaching, Remembering…
These are all acts of Worship!
· Even though these disciples doubted…They still worshipped in action!
This action lead the group to grow from 120 to thousands.
Do the Acts of Worship…Invite YOUR ONE to church, see them discipled and grow in Christ!
