The Holy Spirit is more of a spotlight than in the spotlight.
Two major works of the Holy Spirit:
1) The Holy Spirit empowers us.
Acts 1:8
8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
• You cannot live the way Jesus has called you to live without the Spirit He promised to give.
2) The Holy Spirit sanctifies us.
• Helps us kill our sinful tendencies and actions (Romans 8:13)
Romans 8:13
13 For if you live according to the flesh you will die, but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.
• Helps bring to life the things of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
Galatians 5:22-23
22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
