(Luke 19:28-35 NLT) ...Jesus went on toward Jerusalem, walking ahead of his disciples.

29 As he came to the towns of Bethphage and Bethany on the Mount of Olives, he sent two disciples ahead.

30 “Go into that village over there,” he told them. “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden. Untie it and bring it here.

31 If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying that colt?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

32 So they went and found the colt, just as Jesus had said.

33 And sure enough, as they were untying it, the owners asked them, “Why are you untying that colt?”

34 And the disciples simply replied, “The Lord needs it.”

35 So they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments over it for him to ride on.

36 As he rode along, the crowds spread out their garments on the road ahead of him.

(John 12:12-13 NLT) ...The news that Jesus was on the way to Jerusalem swept through the city. A large crowd of Passover visitors 13 took palm branches and went down the road to meet him.

(Luke 19:37-38 NLT)37 When he reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along,

praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen. 38 “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!”

(Zechariah 9:9 NLT) Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you.

He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey—riding on a donkey’s colt.
Jesus wasn’t declaring war
between the Jews and the Romans

Jesus was declaring peace
between God and man.
Jesus borrowed …

A manger to enter the world

A boat to preach to the masses

A lunch to feed the crowd

A donkey to enter Jerusalem

A room for His last supper

A tomb to conquer sin
This Easter, Jesus wants to borrow you.

If God can use a donkey,
God can use me.
1. Faithfulness – don’t wander.

(Luke 19:30 NLT) “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there...

(Luke 16:10 NLT) “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones.

Your post doesn’t limit your potential.

(Philippians 2:17 NLT) But I will rejoice even if I lose my life, pouring it out like a liquid offering to God, just like your faithful service is an offering to God. And I want all of you to share that joy.
2. Fearlessness – don’t waver.

(Luke 19:30 NLT) “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey...

(Luke 19:31 NLT) If anyone asks, ‘Why are you untying that colt?’ just say, ‘The Lord needs it.’”

(Psalm 139:14 NIV) I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made...
3. Fruitfulness – don’t wait.

(Luke 19:30 NLT) “As you enter it, you will see a young donkey tied there that no one has ever ridden.

> Pray

> Help people see Jesus

> Invite them to Easter

(John 4:35 NIV) ...Open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.
