Times of Great Awakening
Text: 2 Chr 7:14; Ps 91, Deu 32:31
(2 Ch 7:13–14 NIV) 13 “When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people, 14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

Dt 32:31
God’s desire is to HEAL not HARM.
What is the Lord speaking to the global body of Christ?
2 Chron 7:13-15; Ps 91
Ps 91
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
…9 Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge— 10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
Notice vs 8
Vs 8 You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
A time of Recompense
We are in the dispensation of Grace. We are Under Grace. Grace is God’s benevolence to the undeserving. Grace is the rule of life for the Church, and through the Church God’s grace is extended to the whole world, as the gospel of Jesus Christ is taken to the ends of the earth.
It is grace that saved us (Ephesians 2:8-9)
It is grace that supports us (Romans 5:2)
It is grace that teaches us (Titus 2:11-12)
It is also grace that disciplines us (1 Corinthians 11:28-32; Hebrews 12:5-11).
God disciplines to bring us back to himself.
Recompense — consequence, compensation, wages
God is not mocked, as a man sows, so shall he reap
As long as the earth remains, seed time and harvest
God’s patience lasts only so long before, He lifts his hand… and the bill comes due for disobedience.
(Dt 32:20) And he said, ‘I will hide my face from them;
I will see what their end will be, for they are a perverse generation,
Recompense speaks to the consequences of sin being brought to bare…
First mention of "Recompense" Due 32
Due 32, Moses final address, He calls upon his people to take refuge within the Rock that is our God, to let him cover them as an eagle spreads its wings over her babies. Warns not to be disloyal, least their rebellion results in calamity.
The he speaks of the enemies of God’s people…
Understand… people are not the enemy, Sin, Satan is the enemy
Jesus came to destroy the works of the enemy and set captives free
34 “ ‘Is not this laid up in store with me,
sealed up in my treasuries?
35 Vengeance is mine, and recompense,
for the time when their foot shall slip;
for the day of their calamity is at hand
Only so far that God will allow us to go, before our foot slips and the consequence of sin comes to bear… not to destroy us… but to humble us
Remember… God’s heart is not to hurt, but to heal. He is patient and long suffering not willing that nay would perish, but all would come to repentance.
He allows a season of consequence to over take, allows our foot to slip, to wake us up…
He is saying at this moment… turn from every thing that is not me, turn from those things that are worthless and find me!
Message of Due 32
Heb 12:26 At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens." 27 The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken-- that is, created things-- so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, 29 for our "God is a consuming fire."
A Time for Revival
The Vice President for weeks has concluded his press briefing with these three words, “Heal Our Land”
There is only one way…

1) Humble Ourselves
2) Pray
3) Seek His Face
4) Repent of our wicked Ways
Then He heals our Land
Due 32:43 “Rejoice with him, O heavens;
bow down to him, all gods,
for he avenges the blood of his children
and takes vengeance on his adversaries.
He repays those who hate him
and cleanses his people’s land.”
It is Time to Make An Appeal to Heaven!
