Questions:
(1) When have you been the most focused or determined in your life? Why?
(2)Have you ever had someone “put you in a box”? They had specific ideas of who you were and what you could or couldn’t or should or shouldn’t do? What did that feel like?
(3)To be “resolute” means to have a purposeful, determined, unwavering manner. How do you think that should look in your relationship with God and His purposes for you?
(4)Read Matthew 21:8-9. This was Palm Sunday. How do you think you would have felt if you were the people? The religious leaders? Jesus?
(5)No matter what came His way, Jesus was on a mission to the cross and nothing was going to stand in His way. Read Luke 20:19. What was the threat to the Pharisees and the threat to Jesus?
(6)Read Luke 22:41-44. Jesus was face to face with his destiny. There was lots of “noise” around Him but he would not be deterred from his mission. What was that mission?
(7)Jesus was willing to do His father’s will no matter what. We’re called to live the same way – “not my will, but Your’s be done”. How can you take a step toward that kind of living this week?

Prayer
God, it is so easy to be put in a box, or to lose hope. Help me to be resolute. To be focused on Your will and willing to do what you want me to do this week. Help me to not be deterred from living for you, no matter what I face today – whether it’s a relationship issue, the Corona virus, a financial struggle, or just my own selfishness. I want to be like Jesus. Not my will, Yours be done. Amen.
