Sunday 10:00 AM

In this series, we are studying the Old Testament book of Joshua.

· It teaches us how to live once we’ve place our faith in Jesus the Savior.
· It shows, through the examples of others, how to possess what God has promised us.
· It demonstrates the blessings of obedience and the price of stubborn disobedience.
· It illustrates the reality of spiritual warfare and the danger of compromise.
· It challenges us to be decisive, determined, and devoted.
Question:
How long would you like to live? How many years, months, weeks, days, hours, minutes, and seconds? It's a fitting question in light of what is going on now but it's also a question rooted in reality.
Job 14:1-2, 5
Today we are looking at Joshua 23-24. The final 2 chapters of the book.
Joshua has lived a long life filled with many significant events. Now in these chapters he is preparing his nation for the future without him.
It's as though he is saying, "that's all folks." The Apostle Paul left a similar message in 2 Timothy 4:7.
In these two chapters we see Joshua facing his own mortality (chapter 23) and accountability (chapter 24).
Wise people do this and plan accordingly.
First - Joshua and his MORTALITY.
Joshua 23:1-3, 14

1. Time eventually passes for everyone.

2. God is in control of the circumstances of life.

3. All of us grow older.
We learn in Joshua 24:29 that Joshua died at the age of 110.

4. We will all have final thoughts and words.
Joshua's words reminds them about God's faithfulness.
To whom would we want to say our last words and what would you say?

5. The summation of our life will point people to something.
Second - Joshua and his ACCOUNTABILITY.
Joshua 24:14-22, 31

In chapter 24:1-13 Joshua recounts all that God has told them and has done for them.
Joshua uses the pronoun "I" 18 times.
Joshua uses the phrase "the Lord" 21 times.
Joshua uses the word "serve" 15 times.

Joshua tells them they have a choice to make (v.15) and we see that the people responded well (v.31).
Our mission here at Grace Church is to be disciples who make disciples. We must be intentional in our lives and in the lives of those we influence if we hope to leave a legacy that will continue.
Romans 14:12
2 Corinthians 5:10
Hebrews 9:27

Whatever numbers you chose at the beginning of the message to state how long you wanted to live; we all have a time of accountability in our future.

God's expectation is that we serve Him.
Wholeheartedly, not reluctantly.
Faithfully, not fearfully.
Obediently not defiantly.
H.O.M.E. Group Discussion Questions:

Grace Church Information on Current Situation

Grace Church is going virtual in place of our in person celebration service for the next 2 weeks. Our Facebook Live service will begin at 10:00 am on Sunday. You can access this by going to the Grace Church Facebook page. After 11:30 am a recording of the Facebook Live will be available.

In light of there being a case of COVID-19 in Eaton County and because we want to do our part to stop the spread of this virus, we will not be holding any group gatherings for the next 2 weeks.
This includes HOME Groups, Grace U classes, and Bridge. The leaders of these groups will contact their members directly regarding plans to stay connected.

Remember all of those utilities that you need to pay whether you're home or away from home? God gave us 78 acres and a 23,000 sq. ft. building with all of those same utility bills, insurance costs, and wages to pay whether we are meeting or not. Like you, the church is completely trusting in God to supply everything that we need. He knows about our financial responsibilities as well as our desire and we simply ask you to keep this issue in your thoughts and prayers. If you would like to give online while you are away from church, visit the Grace Church website under the "giving" tab. Contact Lisa (lisa@gc3.org) if you have questions about online giving. If you would like to mail your tithes & offerings, the address of the church is: 8950 E. M-79 Nashville, MI 49073

Alpha Women's Center Baby Bottle Fundraiser

In light of the fact that we won't be having services on Sunday mornings for at least the next couple of weeks, we wanted to share some direction regarding the Alpha Women's Center fundraiser.
The church office is open if you would like to drop off any fundraising bottles to the office otherwise you can just hold on to them and bring them back when you return to church. If you wish not to participate in filling the bottle but would like to make a donation to Alpha Women's Center, you can use the PayPal link found at the Alpha Women's Center Facebook page. Please contact Stacy Schilz (sschilz@grar.com) if you have any questions.
