A Word From Our Lead Pastor Eugene Hor

1. God is still sovereign and providentially in control working all things for his glory! Psalm 29:10-11, The LORD sits enthroned over the flood;
the LORD is enthroned as King forever. The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace.

2. We’re still God’s people in different places – gathering under God’s word carrying out God’s mission – to love Him, to love each other, and to love our city!

3. The eternal hope of the good news of Jesus Christ tells us even in such times to not be fearful or careless. The gospel gives us license to be fearless in serving and loving others at this time, and to be wise and careful as we do it because of love.

4. Let this season drive you upward to Him in Word and Prayer each day.

5. Let this be a season where we love each other deeply as God's people.

6. Let this be a season where we love our city by doing good and sharing the hope of the gospel.
Welcome - Pastor Elliot Ku

Psalm 95:1-7, Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care
Song's Of Praise

Here I Am To Worship
Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

Chorus
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor

Well, I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross (x4)

God Is Able
God is able
He will never fail
He is almighty God
Greater than all we seek
Greater than all we ask
He has done great things

Lifted up
He defeated the grave
Raised to life
Our God is able
In His name
We overcome
For the Lord
Our God is able

God is with us
God is on our side
He will make a way
Far above all we know
Far above all we hope
He has done great things

Lifted up
He defeated the grave
Raised to life
Our God is able
In His name
We overcome
For the Lord
Our God is able

God is with us
He will go before
He will never leave us
He will never leave us
God is for us
He has open arms
He will never fail us
He will never fail us

Lifted up
He defeated the grave
Raised to life
Our God is able
In His name
We overcome
For the Lord
Our God is able

For the Lord
Our God is able
For the Lord
Our God is able

Congregational Prayer - Elia Chen
Philippians 4:6, Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Westminster Larger Catechism Question.5
Q. What do the Scriptures principally teach?
A. The Scriptures principally teach what we must believe about God and what duty God requires of us

Psalms 91:1-16

The Promise Of Refuge
Psalm 91

Introduction

What we need more than anything else is a word that is greater than the circumstances we find ourselves in! Everyone’s looking for a safe place … a refuge from their unrest in life ..

Psalm 90 – life is filled with trouble and sorrow, and ultimately marked by death (vv.5-6, 13-15)

Where does one find refuge in such times?
Where The Psalmist Finds Refuge vv.1-2

In life we’re always running from unrest to find a place of rest, safety, protection and security …
Why We Should Seek Refuge In God vv.3-13

He provides refuge from all of life’s unrest …

… the terror of the night, the arrow that flies by day, the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, the plague that destroys at midday, death that takes the life of thousands … stumbling, the wild beast … - it echoes God’s providing refuge for his people in the Exodus!
What God Promises Those Who Seek Refuge In Him vv.14-16
Conclusion

i) Don’t be naïve about life – life WILL be filled with trouble and sorrow

ii) Don’t despair because there IS a place of refuge through your trouble and sorrow cf. 1 Corinthians 15:54-55; Hebrews 12:1b-3

If Jesus has protected and delivered you from the greatest of troubles and sorrow, the ultimate plague death itself, be assured that nothing in this life can harm you cf. Rom.8:35-37; Phil.1:19, 21
Guided Reflection & Responding in Prayer
1. Spend a few moments right now reflecting on what we’ve just heard asking: What is something that stood out to me?

2. Take a few moments to prayerfully reflect and write this down in a sentence or two.

3. Share what you've learnt with the people next to you, and spend some time praying for each other.
Song's Of Response

In Christ Alone
“In Christ alone my hope is found;
He is my light, my strength, my song;
This cornerstone, this solid ground,
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
What heights of love, what depths of peace,
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
My comforter, my all in all—
Here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
Fullness of God in helpless babe!
This gift of love and righteousness,
Scorned by the ones He came to save.
Till on that cross as Jesus died,
The wrath of God was satisfied;
For ev’ry sin on Him was laid—
Here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay,
Light of the world by darkness slain;
Then bursting forth in glorious day,
Up from the grave He rose again!
And as He stands in victory,
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me;
For I am His and He is mine—
Bought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death—
This is the pow’r of Christ in me;
From life’s first cry to final breath,
Jesus commands my destiny.
No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man,
Can ever pluck me from His hand;
Till He returns or calls me home—
Here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand.”

Ancient Of Days

Verse 1
Though the nations rage
Kingdoms rise and fall
There is still one King
Reigning over all
So I will not fear for this truth remains:
That my God is the Ancient of Days

Chorus
None above Him, none before Him
All of time in His hands
For His throne it shall remain and ever stand
All the power, all the glory
I will trust in His name
For my God is the Ancient of Days

Verse 2
Though the dread of night
Overwhelms my soul
He is here with me
I am not alone
O His love is sure and He knows my name
For my God is the Ancient of Days

Verse 3
Though I may not see
What the future brings
I will watch and wait
For the Saviour King
Then my joy complete standing face to face
In the presence of the Ancient of Days

The Lord's Prayer
This Lord’s Prayer is the prayer Jesus taught his disciples to pray in the gospels. It’s a prayer reminding us that God is our Father and that he's sovereign in our lives and world right now. It’s a prayer seeking his glory and kingdom in our world, his provision for all our needs, his forgiveness for all our sins, and his protection from temptation and evil.

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power,
and the glory are yours
now and for ever.
Amen.
Benediction

Now may the peace of God which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord: And the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, be amongst you and remain with you always – now and forevermore. Amen.
