A Change in Ownership
A. "But, who do you say I am??"
1. The response of the disciples was what other people say, rather than what they say!
2. But Jesus didn’t want to know what other people were saying, but rather, what are my disciples saying?
3. Peter's response was quick and direct!
4. But...Peter's response came from God speaking through him.
5. But...who do you say Jesus is?

B. Jesus knew what was ahead...
1. When Jesus shared what He knew was ahead, Peter actually began to reprimand Jesus. How often do we think we know better than God?
2. Jesus immediately recognized where this temptation was coming from and dismissed it! He was purposeful and intent on not falling for distractions.
3. When faced with temptation to doubt, to fear, to worry or to fall for the traps the enemy sets, remember God has another viewpoint!
C. Jesus called us to a change in ownership…
1. To be a follower of Jesus, we must give up our own way!
2. To be a follower of Jesus, we must take up our cross!
3. When you hang on to your life, you will lose it!
4. When you give up your life, you will save it!
D. Our lives belong to God...
1. If your life belongs to God…who owns your will and your desires?
2. If your life belongs to God...who owns your time and your resources?
3. If your life belongs to God...who owns your ambitions, attitudes, and actions?
4. If your life belongs to God...who owns your life and all of you?
