In this series, we are studying the Old Testament book of Joshua.

· It teaches us how to live once we’ve place our faith in Jesus the Savior.
· It shows, through the examples of others, how to possess what God has promised us.
· It demonstrates the blessings of obedience and the price of stubborn disobedience.
· It illustrates the reality of spiritual warfare and the danger of compromise.
· It challenges us to be decisive, determined, and devoted.
We are now in the second third of the book.
The first 8 chapters dealt with:
-The transitions from Moses to Joshua and from Wanderers to Warriors
-The crossing of the River and the construction of the Reminders
-The defeat of the city of Jericho and the deliverance of Rahab and family
-The lesson of Achan’s sin, the defeat and subsequent victory at Ai.
-The blunder of Israel with the Gibeonites and how God blessed them in spite of this.
Have you ever been given a task you thought was impossible?

In the Bible there are numerous examples of people who were given a task that looked impossible. Example of Noah & Moses.

As God's children we must remember the truth found in Matthew 19:26.
The book of Joshua is all about moving from here to there.
Our text today is Joshua 10:28-12:24. We see Israel is at war and as they follow God's strategy, they are victorious over their enemies.
Like Joshua, we face a coalition of evil forces that have banded together in an attempt to destroy us.
The World
James 4:4
Here we are looking at the culture of mankind (not the world as a planet) that pressures us and tries to conform us to its mold.
The Flesh
Galatians 6:7-8
The flesh is the sinfulness within us which betrays us, undermines us, and sabotages us even though we want to serve God.
The Devil
1 Peter 5:8
The devil is a master strategist. He is good at what he does and has been doing it for thousands of years. Sometimes he attacks openly, sometimes he is crafty, but he always attacks our weaknesses.
These enemies (the world, the flesh, and the devil) are not like enemies in a video game or a board game where we get multiple do-overs if they defeat us.
If we want to move from here to there in our spiritual lives we need to learn how to defeat these enemies.
1. God WANTS our obedience.
Joshua 10:28
2. God KNOWS which battles are a priority.
Joshua 10:29-11:23
3. God FIGHTS our battles.
Joshua 10:30, 32
H.O.M.E. Group Discussion Questions:

1. Have you ever been given a task you thought was impossible? How did you respond? Did you go to God for guidance?

2. Read James 4:4, Galatians 6:7-8, and 1 Peter 5:8. What warnings do we see in these passages?

3. In our text, God and the Israelites both had enemies (the World, the Flesh, and the Devil). What are the enemies that keep you from being victorious in your spiritual life? What have you tried in the past to resist these enemies?

4. Today we have learned that God Wants, God Knows, and God Fights.
In light of this, what changes will you make in your life to take you from here to there spiritually?
