We are tempted to change the outward instead of the inward.

We are tempted to live for the temporary instead of the eternal.

It’s not what we are looking for but where we are looking for it that matters.

The gifts of God make good gifts but lousy gods.

We are tempted to live for what we can get instead of what we can give.

We are all tempted to find our significance in the outward: what we  look like, what we accomplish, and what we possess. But Jesus offers us something more, lasting, and real.
