What is the most important message in the Bible?
“How can my relationship with God be made right?”
THE GOSPEL is good news, not good advice.
GOOD ADVICE is something I need to do.
GOOD NEWS is something that already happened.
Titus 3:1-15 NIV
1. The Problem (Titus 3:3)
We’re broken & far from God.
Foolish, Disobedient, Deceived, Enslaved, Malice, Envy, Hatred
Foolish --> Disobedient --> Deceived --> Enslaved
2. The Solution (Titus 3:4-6)
Jesus came to rescue & to heal
3. The Result (Titus 3:7)
We get to become heirs of God.
When I confuse the advice with the news, I miss the news, I still have the problem, and I can’t follow the advice.
Christians often think, “I am accepted by God based on my behavior.”
The Bible is clear:
YOU ARE ACCEPTED BY GOD BASED ON JESUS’ BEHAVIOR!
Romans 1:16 NIV
FAITH + WORKS = SALVATION X
FAITH + NOTHING= SALVATION
I used to think, “I’m SAVED by faith, but I have to LIVE by works.”
I’m learning to think more biblically: “I’m SAVED by faith, and I LIVE by faith.”
“We are saved by faith alone, but not by a faith that remains alone.”

2 questions to consider:
1. What is your emotional response to Jesus?
2. How do you speak to others about Jesus?
The gospel says,
“Everything that needed to be done has already been done in Christ. Believe it and it’s yours.”
