● 70% of the spouses of sex addicts likely suffer from some form of PTSD
● Between 89 and 95% of women and men admit to masturbating frequently
● 70% of pastors are approached several times per year or more with concerns about sexual
brokenness
● 80 % of pastors were approached in the past year by a church member or staff dealing with infidelity
● 88 % of porn contains violence against women
● 31% of women and 55% of men masturbate at least once a week
● 33% of teen girls are viewing online pornography for a half-hour or more at a time, and 1 in 7 have done this on multiple occasions
● 9 out of 10 boys were exposed to pornography before the age of 18
● The porn industry brings in more money than the NFL, MLB, and NBA...combined.

Culturally we are turning to something that is false in order to deal with something that is real.

And it’s addictive.

“Addiction occurs when pleasure/reward pathways are hijacked by exogenous drugs such as cocaine or opioids, or by natural processes essential and inherent to survival such as food and sex...Preliminary findings suggest that natural addictions (i.e. sex, gambling, eating disorders) share mental pathways and responses with those patterns seen in drug abuse” (Hilton & Watts, 2011)

Big Idea: What you allow into you deeply shapes what flows out of you.

Sin is extreme and our attitude toward it should be extreme.

This means saying "no" to perverse ideas and stay away from every evil.
