Questions for Group Life Communities
Our Vision: Encouraging, Equipping and Empowering a Community of Christ-followers who are Inviting People into a Relationship with Jesus.
Name the three top issues that you worry about? What did you use to fear that you no longer fear? What changed?
Read Psalm 127.1-2
1. What is this psalm trying to get us to understand?
How does this psalm address your own fears, worries and anxieties?
What does it teach you about work--your work (on the job, at home, in marriage and family, or in ministries)?
Read Matthew 6.25-37
2. Jesus told us not to worry about our lives. Make a long list of all the things we can worry about? Is there anything on the list you think Jesus would tell you, "You should be worried."
3. Look over this teaching again. What does Jesus say in order to help us understand why worry is not the way of faith/trust? Is the teaching of Jesus actually helpful to you? Why or why not?
4. In verses 32 and 33, Jesus contrasts two ways of living. Discuss these.
Why is it that we act like pagans when we run after more stuff and more security?
Are you aware when you are 'running' and anxious?
What would it actually look like for you to pursue first the kingdom of God and his righteousness?
5. What one or two changes of habit or practice could you make that slows you down? Some changes that help you become less distracted and more intentional in loving God with all your heart and your neighbor as yourself?
