The value of friendship is expressed through commitment, confirmation and, when necessary, confrontation.
It is both remarkable and significant to discover how large a place friendship plays in the lives of men of God used in Scripture. Moses had Aaron and a Joshua to support him; David was constantly surrounded by loyal friends, most notably Jonathan; Daniel lived a remarkable life of faith, supported by three friends; the Lord Jesus himself interwove his life with twelve men.
John and Peter forged a powerful team in Jerusalem; Paul constantly associated with an intimate circle of friends. […] The fact that such heroes of faith needed others underlines the inescapable need we all have to establish solid and satisfying friendships that not only meet our needs, but equip us to meet the needs of others as well. - Taken from Quality Friendship

A Circle of Commitment:
The Circle of Commitment represents the friend who is loyal. They believe your potential is worthy of their sacrifice (see 2 Samuel 8:1-3)
“This may have been the last time David and Jonathan were together. As true friends they were more than just companions who enjoyed each others company. They encouraged each others faith in God and trusted each other with their deepest thoughts and confidences. These are the marks of true friendship.”
