FEAR

COURAGE BUILDERS

The RESPONSIBILITY....

•As a believer, there is a responsibility to serve others as God has equipped you (Rom. 12:6-8)
•As a believer, there is benefit to being reminded when you fail to fulfill your responsibility
(2 Tim. 1:6)

As you remind others…

•Be patient – you may have to remind them more than once (1 Tim. 4:14; 2 Tim 1:6)
•Be encouraging – remind them that by God’s grace they can do it (2 Tim. 1:6)
•Be understanding – there may be other factors motivating irresponsibility (2 Tim. 1:6)

The FEAR...

•Fear of what others think (Pro. 29:25; Psa. 118:6)
•Fear of not being in control (Psa. 46:2)
•Fear of no one caring (Psa. 56:4, 8)

COURAGE BUILDERS: POWER...

•God’s POWER isn’t limited by my weakness; it enables me to face my fears (2 Cor. 12: 9; Acts 1:8).
•God’s POWER will not leave me unattended; it enables me to be what God wants me to be (Eph. 3:20; 2 Pet. 1:3).

COURAGE BUILDERS: LOVE....

•LOVE is sacrificial—placing other’s needs over my wants (1 Jn. 3:16)
•LOVE is volitional—exercising the will to choose when feelings are insufficient motivations (1 Jn. 3:18)

COURAGE BUILDERS: SOUND MIND...

A Sound Mind:
• A sound mind can distinguish between temptation’s lie and God’s unchanging truth (Matt. 4:1-11)
•A sound mind won’t be shaken when what we see, doesn’t seem to match up with what God is (Dan. 3:17-18)
