THIS WEEKEND, I WANT TO ASK THE QUESTION, “WHAT DOES GOD REALLY WANT?”

TO UNDERSTAND WHAT GOD WANTS FROM US, WE MUST BEGIN WITH WHAT CHRIST DID FOR US.
To understand what Jesus did for us, we have to understand some things about ourselves.

WE DID NOT DO, CANNOT DO, AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DO ANYTHING TO EARN OUR SALVATION - OR REPAY THE SACRIFICE OF CHRIST - WHEN HE DIED TO PURCHASE IT.

I AM A SINNER, CHRIST IS MY ATONING SACRIFICE, HE DIED FOR MY SINS. MY SALVATION IS BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH, NOT BY WORKS.

GOD’S LOVE IS NECESSARY, FREE, THOROUGH, AND COMPLETE!
FOR SOME OF US THAT IS AWESOME NEWS. FOR MOST OF US, WE CANNOT BELIEVE BUT IT IS TRUE.

Until you can receive that, you can not be saved… BECAUSE YOU ARE STILL HEARING ….
- GOD IS AN INSPECTING GOD... HERE ARE MY GOOD DEEDS.
- GOD IS AN IMPERSONAL GOD... HERE IS MY APPEASEMENT.
- GOD IS A DISAPPOINTED GOD... HERE IS MY DUTIFUL LIFE.

WHAT CAN I OFFER GOD TO “EVEN THE SCORE”? NOTHING
- OUR EFFORTS ARE COUNTERFEIT CURRENCY TO CHRIST; THEY ARE WORTHLESS.

CHRIST DID WHAT HE DID, BY GRACE, UNMERITED FAVOR.
SO WHAT DOES CHRIST WANT FROM ME?

JESUS LOVED US WITH ABANDON.
SALVATION IS EMBRACED
WHEN MY LOVE FOR HIM IS RETURNED WITH THE SAME ABANDON:

EVERYTHING I AM - EVERYTHING I COULD BE - EVERYTHING I EVER WAS -ALL THAT I HAVE - IS FULLY SURRENDERED TO HIM.

- WHILE WE WERE ENEMIES OF GOD, WE WERE LOVED.
- IN OUR SIN, WE WERE LOVED.
- IN OUR PRESENT SPIRITUAL CONDITION, WE ARE LOVED.
- NO MATTER HOW MESSED UP LIFE IS RIGHT NOW, WE ARE LOVED.

THIS IS THE ESSENCE OF SALVATION AND CHRISTIAN LIVING.

- WE ARE POWERLESS IN OUR SIN.
- CHRIST IS OUR ONLY HOPE.
- HIS DEATH PROVIDED THE FORGIVENESS OF SIN.

WHEN WE RECOGNIZE OUR NEED FOR A SAVIOR AND OUR INABILITY TO PAY FOR OUR OWN SIN - AND ASK CHRIST TO CLEANSE US BY HIS POWER AND GRACE - WE ARE SAVED.

THE EVIDENCE, THAT WE HAVE TRULY EMBRACED THE LOVE OF CHRIST, IS NOT OUR HARD WORK; IT IS OUR ABANDONED LIFE.

- CHRIST IS ALL IN, AND I AM ALL IN.
