What Is A Tithe
The Levites had no inheritance.
Deuteronomy 18:1-2 ESV
The Tithe was supposed to be the inheritance for the Levites.
Numbers 18:21-24 ESV
It was not money it was crops to feed the priests
We have no new text that directs the New Testament Church to tithe.
What does the New Testament say about giving?
1 Corinthians 16:1-3 ESV
1. Everybody should give.
2. We should give regularly.
2 Corinthians 9:6-15 ESV
3. Not a said amount but what you have determined in your heart.
4. Not compulsion but out of joy.
Mark 12:41-44 NASB1995
5. We are to give sacrificially.
God is more concerned with the heart in which you give than he is the amount that you give.
If that is God's focus, it should be ours as well.
