Worship Gathering - Sacred Selfie #3
Primary text: Luke 6:27-35
Focus:
Our world today is really good at creating an "us versus them" mentality. It seems like if we don't agree on an issue, we have the right to belittle and treat each other as somehow less than human. As we continue in this series, we will take a look at how having a Sacred Selfie, seeing ourselves through God's eyes, affects how we approach our enemies. See you Sunday at 10:30am.
Elements of the Service:
1. Small Groups Kickoff
Reflection Questions:
1. What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
2. Why is it so hard to love our enemies? What keeps us from wanting to forgive them?
3. How can Jesus’s example be helpful in our ability to treat our enemies well?
4. Have you ever resented someone for not reciprocating the love you gave them? How did it make you feel?
5. How can knowing that God has forgiven you help you forgive others?
6. What might God be asking us to do about this area of our lives?
7. How can we encourage and pray for each other in this?
