Hebrews 11:8-16

Genesis 3:6-7

James 2:23 says that, because of his faith, Abraham was called “__________________________.”
It’s always hard to wait, there’s usually a cost involved, but true faith is able to wait for the fulfillment of God’s purposes in God’s time. While we are waiting, we must at the same time, obey. “By faith Abraham . . . obeyed (v.8).” Abraham obeyed and went, even when he did not know where he was going (vv. 8-10). Abraham believed God when he did not know when God would fulfill His promises (vv. 11-16). Ultimately, God always fulfills His promises to His believing people.
1. Abraham was called by God and only God knew __________________________________. (v. 8)

Joshua 24:2

Genesis 12:1

2. Abraham’s faith __________________________ to live without grumbling in as an alien in His own land. (vv. 9, 10) 9-12

Acts 7:5

Abraham could have gone back but he didn’t. He kept on __________ ______________.
3. It was __________________________ that kept Abraham going. (vv. 13-16)

Genesis 23:4

Faith is continuing to trust God in spite of ________________________ around us.
Real faith is _____________________________.

Romans 1:5

Romans 16:26

You don’t obey in order to be saved. However, if you are truly saved, you _______________________!

Matthew 28:20

If you’re looking for satisfaction here and now, you’re not looking where ____________________________________.

Matthew 7:21

Hebrews 11:6

Romans 3:11

Acts 4:12
