Introduction
So What?!
How does grace-promise emotionally free me?
#1. It frees me from fear of rejection, therefore I can be HONEST.
#2. It frees me from fear of performance, therefore I can RISK.
#3. It frees me for the joy of acceptance, therefore I can ENJOY.
#4. It frees me to enjoy grace giving, therefore I can OBEY.
FREEDOM! : When Religion Becomes Unreasonable
Galatians 3:15-25 Pastor Ed Kemp, September 15 & 18, 2019
Prayer Requests:

Group Discussion: Have you prepared your will and what was that like? Have you ever been a part of the execution of a will?
Read: Galatians 3:1-14
What have you learned in the study of Galatians that’s helped you eliminate performance-based wage religion from your life and encourage a relational grace-promise connection with God?

Since performance-based wage religion is unbiblical & grace-promise relationship is Biblical how does that emotionally free me?
#1. It frees me from fear of rejection, therefore I can be honest. Have you ever had a credit card rejected when you were trying to buy something? Was that embarrassing? Growing up did you ever hide anything from a boyfriend/girlfriend in fear of rejection? God knows you inside out, good & bad, but He doesn’t reject you. Read John 6:35-40, how does Jesus describe the security that a believer has with God?

#2. It frees me from fear of performance, therefore I can risk. Did you ever have to give your parents a report card that was less than perfect? How did that go? Ever flunk a class or strike out at bat or get last place or not do what you said you would? Describe that. Read Romans 3:23, what does it mean to fall short? What risk are taking for God right now? What could you risk?

#3. It frees me for the joy of acceptance, therefore I can enjoy. Even with all my flaws God accepts me. How does the knowledge of acceptance allow me to enjoy my relationship with God? Ever have to apologize to a friend or them to you? Were they or you good at accepting the apology and extending forgiveness? How could you get better at acceptance?

#4. It frees me to enjoy grace giving, therefore I can obey. Read Ephesians 2:8-10. Since we’re saved by grace (vs. 8) and not works (vs. 9) we’re able to become who God made us to be (vs. 10.) How do you, “walk in good works?” What’s one good thing God has been prompting you to do lately: with your spouse, with your friend, with your neighbor, with a co-worker?

Family Time: Read Galatians 3:24 and explain to your kids that a tutor is like a teacher. Ask them, “What did your teacher teach you today?” Remind them of something you’ve taught them lately. Ask them what they learned from the Bible at GateWay Kids. Start a chart with 4 or 5 boxes depending on the month of the year. Every Sunday when you get home from Church put a gold star in the square when your child can tell you one LITTLE thing they learned in GateWay kids. Or 5 gold starts if they remember 5 things. Agree ahead of time, if they get a certain number of stars you’ll take them for ice cream or whatever they enjoy. It creates some great discussions!
