The world does a good job of letting everyone know what it's against. Turn on the television, and you’ll see plenty of people arguing about what they’re against. Have you ever stopped and thought: "Enough about what you’re against. What are you for?”
In this series we’ll discuss some things that followers of Jesus are “for.” We’ll learn how to be for our families, for our friends, for the forgotten, and finally — for our faith.

In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.

Don’t join in on gossip and trash talk, but shut it down. See the goodness in everyone you encounter. Speak up for them. Nothing will kill a friendship, or a church, faster than gossip and tearing down one another. Don’t give in to that. Defend your friends, even if it might cost you something.

We see all three of those characteristics in the person of Jesus, who himself has called us his friends.
