In the past I have preached on the “Light of Christ” from the view point of dispelling darkness with the Light and reflecting the Light. Today, I want us to consider how we as Christians are to absorb more of the Light of Christ so it fills our life. So how do we absorb more of the Light? Before I answer that, we need to understand two things:
1. The “Light” being referred to is not physical, but is instead spiritual.
Jesus is The Light! Every Christian has this Light in them, because they’ve received Christ, “The Light”, into their lives!
2. What does the Light do?
It reveals our path in life.
It reveals truth.
It produces life.
So, back to the original question: “How do we absorb more of the Light?”
Answer: Choose to fill your spiritual eyes with the Light. Your spiritual eyes are like a sponge. You place a sponge into situations where you need to absorb up a liquid.

Your spiritual eyes must be placed into situations that allow them to absorb in Christ’s Light.
Jesus gave us 3 examples of how to keep light in our eye:
Live by The Word.
Don’t provoke or test God.
Worship and Serve God.
And the Apostle Paul tells us how to guard our eye from darkness
When we combine this with absorbing in His Word our spiritual eyes become full of “The Light” of Jesus!
We are absorbing more of The Light!
We are absorbing more of The Light!
We must absorb in the Light through thinking on what is good by God’s standards in our life and in our world. So pay attention to what you are watching, listening to and reading.
