Sisterhood is Back
The countdown is on for Sisterhood! Are you ready to build connections, strengthen communications, and set some healthy boundaries? Sisterhood is back Friday, September 20th with an exciting focus! Watch for future details!
Zion Peru Update
The Zion Peru team is back!! The team had a full week complete with projects, worship, as well as receiving some serious healing, freedom, and vision for their futures of where God is taking them! Check out the highlight video below!
"When the team arrived, we divided into groups of three and went to different small groups for fellowship with members of Genesis Church. We heard a message based off of the previous week's sermon and talked with members of the group. The next day we spent more time with small group members at an all church gathering. We played in soccer and volleyball tournaments to raise money for the new land. We swam, helped make lunch, and enjoyed making new friends through each activity."
"On Saturday we spent the day doing service projects. One team cleared land for a papaya field while another team built a Safe T Home. Both are projects that fall under Zion's micro-loan program. The Safe T Home will act as a shelter for those guarding a new chicken coop day and night. While we were there, 1000 chicks were purchased! There are five boys staying with Bethany and Nelton that will be in charge of the papayas and chickens. The proceeds will help them pay for their schooling and set them up for a successful future."
"Sunday was spent worshiping! We went to a bilingual and then a Spanish service at Genesis. In the afternoon we hung out at the plaza until it was time for Radicales - the Youth service! Such a fun day!"
"On Monday and Tuesday, the team had the honor of participating in an "Encounter" experience through Genesis Church. It was a full two days of teachings, worship, prayer, and group edification. Chains were broken, freedom was found, and the Holy Spirit moved over all team members. Ask a team member about their personal encounter experience to hear just how awesome our God is!"
"Our last day was spent divided into two different teams: a medical team that performed circumcisions, and a baptism team. The medical team performed circumcisions on five boys and eight men! The baptism team traveled to the Amazon river to baptize Juan Jesus, a man that Lucas Kirchhoff befriended in the drug hole of Iquitos. Through friendship and prayer, Lucas was able to help Juan Jesus out of that life and introduced him to Jesus! Our team had the incredible opportunity to lead his baptism and celebrate the new life of an amazing man!"
"Even though the team is home, we continue to message each other our struggles and victories that are taking place in our lives since Peru and several team members were baptized at Zion's Baptism in the Lake! Praise Jesus for all he is doing in the lives of our friends in Peru and the lives of team members in Clear Lake! Thank you for your prayers and financial support through donuts this summer. Without our congregation, this experience would not have been possible for many. Thank you, Zion!"

Zion Lutheran Church Women Annual Salad Luncheon
Zion Lutheran Church Women will be holding their Annual Salad Luncheon Thursday, September 5th at 12:00 PM. The Speaker will be Shandra Hansen from Francis Lauer Youth Services. There will be a free-will offering donation, and there will be a basket for small gifts for those who receive their services, consisting of tooth paste, tooth brushes, combs, brushes, deodorant, and the like. All are welcome, both men and women!
Lutheran World Relief Kits
It is time to put together our LWR Kits for the fall shipment. Last spring, a shipment of quilts, School Kits, Personal Care Kits, Baby Care Kits, and Fabric Kits traveled to Peru. L.W.R. Staff distributed the quilts and kits to 30,600 women, men, and children all across the country.
There is a great need for these kits around the world. In refuge camps, they may be all these people have. There is a list of what items are needed in each kit at the display table in the sanctuary. You may complete a whole kit or just bring individual items, and we will put them together for you.
We have bags at church, so you can put items in a plastic bag, and we'll do the rest. Thank you so much for helping provide these items for your brothers and sisters around the world. God Bless You - Women's Action Team.
