We are often told, "Watch your step!" In other words, watch where you are going, tread lightly. But that’s not always the best advice. There are times when we can’t anticipate every possibility. Seldom does a familiar road lead to somewhere new. New, or uncommon wisdom, may dictate that we trust the process and trust God in the process.
Hebrews 12: 1, 2
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
1. What is one word you would use to describe 2020 for your life?
2. Do you usually have goals you are working toward?
3. Are they specific or general?
4. Written down or in your head?
5. What is one goal you would set for yourself if you knew you could achieve it?
Matthew 6:33, 34
Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
1. Without thinking of goals, what are three most important areas in your life?
2. Do those areas get specific attention on a regular basis?
3. If you were going to start paying attention to what's most important, more effectively, what would you do differently?
Psalm 37:23-24
23 The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him;
Powerful quotes about getting back up
1. Describe a time you messed up, had a setback, or in some way fell down.
2. How did you recover from that?
3. How did your experience of God change through that experience?
4. In the coming year, what advice would you give someone worried about falling or failing at something?
Write down three people and three things that are most important to you this year. Carry that note in your purse or wallet.
