In every action movie there comes a moment when the hero has been beaten down and seems at the end of their rope. Then they take a moment to stretch or take up a position, crack their neck and prepare themselves for another round.
Whether the last year has been great for you or terrible for you, its time to shake off 2019 and prepare for what 2020 has in store.
Matthew 10:14
If anyone will not welcome you or listen to your words, leave that home or town and shake the dust off your feet.

1. What happened in 2019 that was hard?
2. What concerns do you bring with you into the new year that you need to work on?
3. What needs to have the dust shaken off, meaning let go of, forgiven, or moved on from?
Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
1. What might you face in 2020 that could cause some anxiety or fear?
2. What would God strengthening you look like?
3. How will you approach challenges knowing God will uphold you?
Romans 8: 24,25, 28 Who hopes for what they already have? 25 But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
1. What do you hope for that you do not yet have?
2. In what ways have you seen God work all things for the good?
3. In what ways has that not seemed to be the case?
4. What would help look like in one of your challenging situations?
On a piece of paper, write 2019 and something that you are happy is in the past. Fold the paper and staple or tape is closed. Then write 2020 on the top of the folded paper and the words, "In all things God works for good." Put it somewhere you will see it often to remind you that God is at work in your life and can cause good to come from bad things.
The Joy Of Letting Go

ALPHA starts January 23rd @ 6:30pm. ALPHA is a video discussion series exploring the fundamentals of Christian faith. Designed to generate discussion, each session explores a different faith question. ALPHA is taught internationally and all are welcome. You can expect food, a video teaching, and good conversation.
