“I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people.” Luke 2:10

“The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust Him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of Thanksgiving.” Ps. 28:7

HOW DO WE EXPERIENCE JOY THIS CHRISTMAS?

REMEMBER THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS

“Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared among them, and the radiance of the Lord’s glory surrounded them. They were terrified, but the angel reassured them. ‘Don’t be afraid!’ he said. ‘I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior – yes, the Messiah, the Lord – has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!’” Luke 2:9-11

READ THE CHRISTMAS STORY

Matthew explains to us that Jesus is THE PROMISED
MESSIAH

“’Where is the Messiah supposed to be born?’ ‘In Bethlehem in Judea,’ they said, ‘for this is what the prophet wrote…’”
Matt. 2:4-5

Luke says that Jesus is our PERSONAL SAVIOR

“I bring you good news that will bring great joy to all people. The Savior – yes, the Messiah, the Lord – has been born today in Bethlehem, the city of David!” Luke 2:10-11

John describes Jesus as the PRE-EXISTENT LORD

“In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God… So the Word became human and made His home among us.” John 1:1, 14

REJOICE IN THE LORD’S BLESSING

“The star they had seen in the east guided them to Bethlehem. It went ahead of them and stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, they were filled with joy.” Matt. 2:9-10

“Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.” 1 Thess. 5:16-18

COME HOME TO GOD

“In the same way, there is more joy in heaven over one lost sinner who repents and returns to God than over ninety-nine others who are righteous and haven’t strayed away!” Luke 15:7
