Here's Why I Know its True:
~ Historical Figure - 2 Kings 14:25 mentions Jonah son of Amittai from the village of Gath-hepher.
~ The fact that Jesus refers to Jonah = Matthew 12:41
2 Personal Take-Aways:
1. It's always better to be in Nineveh with God than on a boat to Tarshish without Him!

2. Surrender always comes before Salvation!

The Sovereign Lord has sworn this by his holiness:
“The time will come when you will be led away
with hooks in your noses.
Every last one of you will be dragged away
like a fish on a hook!
~ Amos 4:2
How do you get to the place where you just say no to God and go in the opposite direction?
~ It's a subtle slide away from God.
~ It starts with small disobedience - it ends in total spiritual disaster.
If you want to run from God, there will always be a ship ready to go to Tarshish.
