God is at work even in our foolishness
By any standard of wisdom, Rehoboam acted foolishly. Yet God used the Kings foolishness to accomplish his purpose.
Is God only able to work through us when we are at our best?

A hard thing from the Lord
Rehoboam lost most of his kingdom in his first few days on the throne. This was no doubt a hard thing to swallow. Naturally he wanted to fight against it. But it was from the Lord.
Do we only think of fun and easy things as coming from God or does he work through hard things as well?

Blessings in the midst of the hard things
When we trust in God, he is able to fill our life with blessing even in the midst of hard things.
