Introduction
So What?!
To celebrate Christmas I need to remember:
#1. God LOVES me!
#2. God LIVES IN me!
#3. God LONGS FOR me!
Good Will Toward Men
Prayer Requests:

Group Discussion: What was your favorite pet? What was one of the most stressful things you ever had to do with your pet?

Read: Luke 2:1-20

Shepherds had all their wealth tied up in a flock of sheep! If the sheep multiplied, their wealth grew. Wool, meat and hides were all products of the sheep. Shepherds always had a mixed group because they also kept goats. Goats mainly provided milk and cheese. Shepherds did whatever veterinarian services were needed to keep their flocks fed, watered, healthy and multiplying. Jesus is the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, yet He was just another baby wrapped in some cloths. These shepherds felt they had just seen the lamb that would grow to be the shepherd/king and overthrow the Romans.
If shepherd/King Jesus was the fulfillment of the Old Testament prophecies why wouldn’t the angels want to appear to a group of Jewish Bible scholars?
Since Jesus was the descendent of the most famous shepherd/King, David, and the angels labeled Him “Christ the Lord,” would the shepherds have felt honored? Important? Valued? Encouraged? Why would this encounter cause them to, “glorify and praise God?” How animated are people who are, “glorifying and praising God?”
Why are people terrified (vs. 9) every time an angel appears? Have you ever been terrified? Does being terrified always involve feeling something is life threatening? Overwhelming?
Name something that was overwhelmingly impressive to you and how you told others about it?
Notice as soon as the angels announced Jesus birth the shepherds said in unison to one another, “Let’s go see!” What was the greatest thing you ever went to see?
If God loves me, how do I respond to Him?
If God lives in me, how do I glorify and praise Him?
If God longs for me, how do I respond to Him? Do I allow Him to talk to me every day? Do I talk to Him every day?

Family Time: Read Luke 2:7. Now have a Merry Moment: Ask your kids, “Without answering out loud, what is the first word that comes in your mind when I say Christmas?”
Count to 3 and have everyone say their word at the same time. Then have them explain why they think that was their word.
