Choosing Sides
Do Christians need to bother studying the Old Testament? How can Israel's history even be relevant for us today? Join us as we dig into the Old Testament book of 1 Samuel and discover a shocking truth – just as Israel longed for a king, we actually still long for a king to rule over our hearts today! Of course, for many of us, the king on the throne is ourselves. But what kind of king is actually good for us? What does the heart of that king need to be like? How can we find a king who will truly protect, love, and serve us? Join us as we explore these questions!

Day of Giving final update
Thanks again to all who participated in the special Day of Giving, as well as to those who generously support this ministry on an ongoing basis! Day of Giving funds will be split evenly among three ministries: Families Together, Deborah's Legacy, and Fresh Start.

Aligning with the enemy

Possible signs of enemy alignment
• Suspicion/paranoia (“You’re against me / on their side!”)
• Manipulation (Saul: “I’ll give you…will they?” Doeg: “I saw…”)
• Worldly worldview (stick with my tribe, next king is my son)
• Projection, confirmation bias (suspects David of wanting to kill him)
• Ungodliness (deception, only 1 witness, kill priests, vengeful)
• Absolute statements (“You have all… No one… None of you…”)
