Faithful in the Little Things
Psalm 119:89-90; Matthew 25:14-30
Thomas Chisholm was an uneducated, unmarried man living in New Jersey working a desk job in New Jersey as a life insurance agent. There was nothing fancy or glamorous about his life; it was very simple. But with this simple life, Thomas remained faithful in even the little things: teaching himself to read and write, faithfully working his job day in and day out. And in 1923 Thomas wrote the words to “Great is Thy Faithfulness” which is often regarded as one of the top 10 hymns of all time. God is faithful and calls us to be faithful, but it doesn’t have to be in the big things or the world-changing glamorous things. God calls us to be faithful even in the little things.
