Statement of Fundamental Truths
“The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).”
Explanation of Terms
• Inspiration: Special act of the Holy Spirit by which He guided the writers of the scriptures.
• Infallibility: The scriptures are true and reliable.
• Authority of the Bible: Everything the Bible affirms and teaches is true.

Inspiration of the Word of God
1. Greek word for inspired is theopneustos meaning “God-breathed”.
2. Theophneustos points to God as the source of scripture.

4. Holy Spirit guided the transmission of His revelation into words.
5. Through the continuing activity of the Holy Spirit, we receive the original revelation.
