When God Seems Late
Life doesn’t always go the way we expect, and we pray to God for help and guidance. But sometimes it seems like even though we pray with faith, God doesn’t do what we've asked. We seek Him, but don’t feel His presence. We go through pain, but our cries for relief seem to go unanswered. Sometimes, our lives just don't make sense. In this three-week series, Pastor Steve takes a close look at what we can do when we are "Waiting on God". Topics cover the delays and changes we sometimes experience when we surrender our lives to God's planning.

Yet, even in the face of hopelessness, the Lord Jesus Christ demonstrates His power to step into any situation and transform that situation. We learn that…
...WITH GOD, A WAITING SEASON IS NEVER A WASTED SEASON.
1) GOD’S DELAYS ARE NOT NECESSARILY GOD’S DENIALS.
Many delays are divine delays; God has a reason for a “not yet.” Ref. Galatians 4:4
Waiting with God reveals that God often wants to do something in you before he does something for you.
- Problem: We think we know better than God, wrong! Ref. Isaiah 55:8-9
- What was His ways in the passage? Note v. 6, Jesus stayed 2 more days…
Instead of getting up and walking the five miles to get to Lazarus, Jesus stays where He is for two more days.
- Waiting would reveal the glory of the person of the Christ. (v. 4)
- Regardless, Martha and Mary had to deal with the reality of their loss...
- Good news is that Jesus knows what's on the other side of the loss!
Mary and Martha wanted a healing—Jesus wanted a resurrection.
- Jesus wants to give us life! John 10:10
- Jesus' declaration, I am (Ego eimi, self-declaration as God) the resurrection & the life—whoever believes in me will never die
Talk it over with someone!
· What's something you're currently waiting for God to do?
· What can you do to allow room for God to make miracles out of your disappointments?
