Community Group Questions
1. For 21 centuries people have been asking the same question…. Do you really think Jesus could return soon? What do you think? <br>2. What are some ways that people are misled today about Jesus and who He is? (v6) <br>3. Have you heard that “wars and rumors of wars” were a sign of Jesus’ return? Read verse 7 & 8 and re-examine what Jesus actually said. <br>4. Is there any specific event that makes you think that Jesus’ return is imminent? <br>5. Should Christians expect persecution? Is it a tool to get the Gospel not only to the ends of the earth, but also to governors and kings? <br>6. Read verse 11. How does the Holy Spirit give us the right things to say in the moment? Have you ever experienced that when you are talking to someone about your faith in Christ? <br>7. Read v.12-13. How do you feel about what Jesus says? What does it mean to be faithful until the end? Read 1 John 2:19 <br>8. In verse 14 Jesus is talking about His second coming and makes a direct reference to Daniel 12:5-13. Does this mean that a new temple will be built in Jerusalem? <br>9. Read Mark 13:24-27 and discuss how Jesus will come. <br>10.In vs.28-37 it is clear that no one actually knows exactly when Jesus will return. Does it surprise you that Jesus didn’t know? How is that possible since Jesus is God? (hint Phil 2:5-8) <br>11.What does it mean for us to be alert? Does it mean to watch for Jesus’ coming, or watch ourselves so that we are doing what Jesus said we should do?<br><br>
