Making a Resting Place for God!
What does it mean to make a resting place for God?
1. To worship Him in Spirit & in Truth (John 4:23)
2. To desire God’s presence for who He is, not merely what He can do for you

What happens when we make a resting place for God?
1. God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3)
2. In His light (of His presence) we see light (Psalm 36:9)
3. Where His presence is there is freedom (2 Corinthians 3:17)

5 Keys from Mary & Martha about making a resting place for God
1. There are times for sacrificial giving, serving, and ministering to one another. There are richer times, however, of simply sitting at Jesus feet & gazing on Him. (Luke 10.38-41)
2. The Both/And of our worship of God and our mission to man
1. There are times for sacrificial giving, serving, and ministering to one another. There are richer times, however, of simply sitting at Jesus feet & gazing on Him. (Luke 10.38-41)
2. The Both/And of our worship of God and our mission to man
3. God values it when we pour out our best on the presence of the Lord.
4. Wherever there is the sacrifice of pure worship there will always be 2 manifestations:
-A richness of God’s manifest presence: God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22.3)
-A demonic voice of religious respectability: “For this ointment could have been sold for more than three hundred denarii and given to the poor.” (Mark 14.5)

5. When authentic worship of God takes place God draws near, and wherever His presence manifests there is freedom!
Worship is both a lifestyle AND an event!
