Based on Barna’s most recent data, almost four in 10 (38%) Americans are active churchgoers, slightly more (43%) are unchurched, and around one-third (34%) are dechurched.
According to Gallup poll research, one-third of all Americans now consider themselves non-religious, saying that "religion is not an important part of their daily life and that they seldom or never attend religious services."
Their most recent report cited a 6 percent increase in “nones” and an alarming 8 percent drop in the number of self-identifying Christians.
According to the Barna Research Group, 90% of Christians agreed that, “Every Christian has a responsibility to share their faith (circa 1993).” Today, just 64% say so!
The question we must ask... "Are we faithfully sharing the good news?"
