Mercy Team Christmas Opportunities for Generosity
Expand
Thank you for your generosity last month for Thanksgiving! Our opportunities to share God's love continue this month with Christmas!
1) We have 75 boxes to pass out. Take 1 home and fill it back full of items a family can use for their Christmas dinner. Turkeys provided by the church.
2) We have several families we are supporting with our Giving Tree. Pick up an ornament that lists a gift idea. Bring the unwrapped gift back by December 15. This allows the parents to see the gift and wrap it themselves - offering dignity and excitement in their life, too!

Generosity Online!

The Lord calls all who follow His way to live generous lives - starting with the church. FCC faithfully invests all the funds it receives to impact the community and world for Christ. Thanks for your generosity by giving at the church today (stations available at the door or welcome center) or follow this link to discover online giving!

The History and Purpose of Advent

This article and video is a nice summary of the history of Advent.

Greek words for "word":
RHEMA - the spoken word
LOGOS - divine message, power, or principle *
(*) used throughout scripture to explain the message of Jesus
How can we most clearly understand the meaning of "made his home among us" or "dwelling" used in John 1:14?
Today's Takeaway:
Jesus is the image of the INVISIBLE God and His PLAN from the beginning was to make us the FOCUS of His love.
How are we able to experience "the Word" moving into our neighborhood today?
Considering who the characters are in Jesus' story (recorded in Luke 20), how can you insure that you do not become like the farm hands and reject the landowner and his son?
Personal reflection this week ...
> Make a list this week of the moments you experience God’s presence dwelling with you … in your joy, sadness, success, and pain.

> Invite Jesus into your daily routines at home, work and play.
