Father's Day Sunday - Jesus is for Everyone #2
Primary text: Luke 8:22-39
Focus:
This Sunday we honor our fathers. Fathers can be more than biological. Fatherly figures in our lives are those who invest in us in many different ways. Their presence bring re-assurance and help in times of need. Thank you Fathers!
We also continue our look at the good news that Jesus brings into the world. Jesus was definitely a fatherly figure to many overlooked people groups. This week we will look at the next fringe character who Jesus invests in who needed some help. This time it is a man who is demon-possessed.
Think through these questions: How do we respond to the power of Jesus? Does it make us fearful or more secure? What needs could you use some help with? When you have difficulties in your life that you are struggling to overcome, who do you turn to? Let's worship the One who sees as as we are! See you Sunday at 10:30am!
Elements of the Service:
1. Celebration of our fathers
Reflection Questions:
1. What is one thing that stood out to you from this week’s message?
2. Do you remember what it was like to be hopelessly lost?
3. Maybe you weren't like this guy, but is it possible we underestimated the depth of our sin and our need for help?
4. When you have difficulties that you are struggling to overcome, who do you tend to turn to? Why?
5. With Jesus, how do you respond to his power? Does it make you fearful or secure?
6. What needs could you use some help with?
7. How can we encourage each other to follow God's ways in this area?
