Personal Reflection/Growth Group Questions:
1. Tell a good Samaritan story you have personally experienced or know about.

1. Everybody needs God

Matt. 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

1 Corinthians 15:22
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

Personal Reflection/Growth Group Questions:
1. While we say everybody needs God, many people don't think they do. What do people need from God that they can't get anywhere else?
2. What do people think they receive from others that ultimately comes from God?

2. God wants everybody

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

1 Timothy 4: 10
we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.

Luke 10:25-37

3. Everyone is our neighbor

By choosing a Samaritan to be the example in his story, Jesus is saying, if a Samaritan can be a neighbor, then so can we.

Next Steps of openness and observation.

Personal Reflection/Growth Group Questions:
1. Discuss these next steps and how you might incorporate them in your day.

First, ask, what is going on here?
In any situation that piques our interest or catches our attention, ask what is going on here?

Second, ask, what does God want in this situation?
This takes us back to our first two points. Everybody needs God. God wants everybody.

Third, How can I be a neighbor?
We can’t do everything but we can all do something. What would we want someone else to do if the person involved was our loved one?

4. Be a neighbor

Most of the neighborly opportunities we have aren’t sacrificial. They don’t require we give up much. Most opportunities we have, to preform acts of kindness, are not sacrificial but many are sacramental.

Personal Reflection/Growth Group Questions:
1. What does it mean for an act of kindness to be sacramental?
2. When have you experienced an act of kindness demonstrating the presence of God?
