Soul Therapy Tips for the Week
Soul Care Tip
Stillness - practice sitting in silence for a minimum of five minutes. During that time, think of all of the things you are grateful for in your life. If your mind wanders, tell yourself audibly that you are focusing on what you are grateful for.
Health Pillar (from James and Kim Bell)
1. Aerobic
Aerobic exercise, also known as cardio, involves maintaining an increased heart rate for an extended period of time. Aerobic means "with oxygen," which refers to the process of oxygen being pumped through your blood when you're active at an elevated level.Types of aerobic exercise include running, swimming, biking, walking, rowing, hiking, dancing, jumping rope, stair-stepping and kickboxing. The benefits of aerobic exercise are vast. It reduces risk of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke and cancers, as well as improves lung function and keeps those extra pesky pounds off the scale. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that adults get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity per week. That can be broken down to 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity, five days a week.
