Escaping the Crab Mentality
Soul Therapy Volume 2 is designed to help you against the all out assault on our mental health and our spirituality on a daily basis. Without an intentional commitment to emotionally healthy spirituality, we will be living in the answers to our prayers and unable to enjoy it because we have not resolved the pain of our past.

Psalm 23

Psalm 23:1

The shepherd is responsible for leading, feeding, protecting, and procuring rest for their flock.
The Crab Mentality

Crab mentality, also known as crabs in a bucket (also barrel, basket, or pot) mentality, is a way of thinking best described by the phrase "if I can't have it, neither can you".The metaphor refers to a pattern of behavior noted in crabs when they are trapped in a bucket. While any one crab could easily escape, its efforts will be undermined by others, ensuring the group's collective demise. The term crabs in a barrel is commonly used to signify an instance where a person is being held back by “alleged” haters.

What if the "crabs in the barrel" are not people? I would like to submit for your consideration that the term “crab mentality” is a reference to the self-limiting thoughts within us.
What is my Soul?

The human spirit responds to contact from God/spirit realm
The human soul responds to contact, stimuli from the body/natural
Foundational Truths

1. We are a 3 part being (1 Thessalonians 5:23)
2. The Word is the only tool to separate the Soul and Spirit (Hebrews 4:12)
3. You know in your spirit (1 John 2:20), You believe in your soul (Romans 10:10)
Are You Ready to Begin Soul Therapy?

By the end of this series, you will be equipped for a life long journey of emotionally healthy spirituality. We will utilize a wholistic approach based in the Word of God to take captive of our mind/thoughts/feelings that create a perceived distance in our personal relationship with God.

You can experience a pure joy that only comes from God. Living in Joy means having an unfiltered awareness of unconditional love at work in our lives.
Soul Therapy Tips for the Week

Soul Care Tip
Stillness - practice sitting in silence for a minimum of five minutes. During that time, think of all of the things you are grateful for in your life. If your mind wanders, tell yourself audibly that you are focusing on what you are grateful for.

Health Pillar (from James and Kim Bell)
1. Aerobic
Aerobic exercise, also known as cardio, involves maintaining an increased heart rate for an extended period of time. Aerobic means "with oxygen," which refers to the process of oxygen being pumped through your blood when you're active at an elevated level.Types of aerobic exercise include running, swimming, biking, walking, rowing, hiking, dancing, jumping rope, stair-stepping and kickboxing. The benefits of aerobic exercise are vast. It reduces risk of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, stroke and cancers, as well as improves lung function and keeps those extra pesky pounds off the scale. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that adults get 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity or 75 minutes of vigorous-intensity aerobic activity per week. That can be broken down to 30 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity, five days a week.
