What we should know about praise:

- The writer doesn’t distinguish between the inanimate or the living, the material or spiritual, but the call goes out to praise God everywhere.
2. We must praise... for everyTHING (Ps 150:2)
- Here is the reason for praise, for His mighty deeds.
- Definition: act of using words or actions to celebrate good things.
- Yet all things are not “good things”, so how do we praise God in what appears to be “bad things” in life?
- In these deeds of power, we see God work within the bad and good – Romans 8:28.
3. We must praise... with everyBIT(Ps 150:3-5)
- The trumpet had historical significance: 1) signify victory and 2) announce that the King had arrived
- When the people have been gathered by blast of trumpet as a sign of corporate worship, then proceed to praise him with the psaltery and harp.
- Let the clash of the loudest and the highest music be unto the Lord's
- In other words, gather all instruments in order to pour out praise to God!
4. everyONE-(Ps 150:6) must praise!
- "Let all breath praise him": that is to say, all living beings.
- The Psalter clearly makes the distinction between the “wind” instruments and transition to that of vocal, articulate, intelligent praise uttered by the breath of living men by contrast to a lifeless instrument.
- God gave us breath, let us breathe His praise.
