Restore: to reset a BROKEN BONE
The battle: between the Spirit of God in you and your sin nature
…carry each other’s burdens: weight too heavy for 1 PERSON vs. 2
…carry their own load: a roman soldier’s BACKPACK vs. 5

…weary in doing good: INTRINSICALLY good vs. 9
…let us do good: BENEFICIALLY good vs. 10
So What?!
What does a spiritual person do?
#2. Balance their WORK LOAD, vs. 2-5
#3. Support real NEEDS, vs. 6-10

Group Discussion: What is one of your fondest memories of one of your parents helping someone else?
Read: Galatians 5:1-6:10 aloud.
Remember: Christ has set us free so we may turn our faces toward God and loyally obey the marching orders of our commander to love our neighbors as ourselves so that the Fruit of the Spirit is produced in our lives.
Now: Paul turns his attention (6:1-10) to using the spirituality that you’ve gained from the above. Here Paul creates a job description for spirituality.
Why do we need someone to be gentle when restoring us from sin to spiritual health? What are the negative sides to being restored without gentleness? Is there restoration without some level of confrontation? Does confrontation automatically include or exclude gentleness? Why? How does gentleness help or hinder? How is a lack of gentleness detrimental to restoration?
If pride is a sin, why does Paul say to take pride in ourselves in 6:4? What areas of life should we work to build a healthy sense of pride? Tell a very short story of when you were helped in carrying a literal physical load too big to carry on your own.
If the instructed in a church are to financially support the instructor, and what a man sows he will reap, and God is not mocked, what does that do to motivate us to give our time, talent, and treasure? What if we don’t give? How does God honor those who give?
What did Jesus mean when he said, “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21 Is there a kind of bank account in heaven so that the more we give here the greater the reward in heaven? Without getting arrogant, what do you believe you’re good at spiritually that God will reward you for in Heaven?

Family Time: Ask your kids to move something that’s too big for them to do alone. Then help them move it so that you all do it together. Read Gal.6:2b, Carry each other’s burdens. Talk about how much more you can do together.
#1. Restore BROKEN PEOPLE, vs. 1
