So What?!
If you want the victory of a generous life:
#1. Battle the enemy by creating a BUDGET.
…the borrower becomes the lender’s slave. ~Proverbs 22:7
On the first day of every week let each one of you put aside and save, as he may prosper…
~I Corinthians 16:2

~I Corinthians 16:2
#2. Battle the enemy by creating one PRIORITY.
He who is generous will be blessed,
For he gives some of his food to the poor. ~Proverbs 22:9

#3. Battle the enemy by creating one GOAL.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. ~II Corinthians 8:9

Outward generosity is the inevitable sign of
GENUINE inner grace.
GENUINE inner grace.
Generous Living: Going Above & Beyond
Sermon Based Questions
Prayer Requests:
Group Discussion: What was the hardest skill for you to learn growing up? Did your Mom and Dad want you to gain expertise in an area that you didn’t care about?
Read: Matthew 26:1-16
If you want the victory of a generous life:
Battle the enemy by creating a budget. Did your family growing up have and live by a budget? Was money grudgingly or lavishly spent? How do you decide how much to spend on Birthday or Christmas presents? Even if you make decisions with a budget we all still do a little impulse buying, where do you impulse buy the most? (Grocery store, Home Depot, CVS, on-line???) Did you pick up a budget on Sunday? How does a borrower become a lender’s slave (P.22:7)?
Battle the enemy by creating one priority. I used the story of Bill Wilson to create this question in your mind, “Have you ever been so moved by God that you gave more than you intended?” How do you rank your giving: Compassion overload, Callous build-up, Financial intentionality? How will a generous person be blessed?
Battle the enemy by creating one goal. II Cor. 8:9 says that when we’re generous we become rich in heaven. Why do we have such a difficult time believing that and putting it into practice? The Bible definitely encourages us to use money wisely like save, invest, etc. but it also tells us to be generous, are all those contradictory? Can you do all of them, all the time? The Bible encourages us to use wisdom in making decisions in life, how can we use wisdom in being generous?
Outward generosity is the inevitable sign of genuine inner grace. Do you agree/disagree? How does that work?
Family Time: Add one more piggy bank to the two you started with last week (3 total.) This new piggy bank for each child is an investment bank. If they keep all the money in that bank then every month you’ll add 10% to their bank. This is a way to teach long term investing, be prepared!!! On the first day of every week let each one of you put aside and save, I Cor. 16:2
