West Virginia Relief
Expand Our church has a great opportunity to serve the people in West Virginia who are beginning to recover from the worst flooding in that area in over a century. Three days of flooding left 24 people dead and a state of emergency was declared in 44 out of 55 counties in the state. Many of the residents of this area live in poverty, and losing their homes and possessions is a devastating event for them. We have joined forces with a group from RI hoping to send 3 trailers of canned goods and supplies to West Virginia in the next few weeks.
As Pastor Brandon shared with us on Sunday, you can help by donating a bag of canned goods or making a monetary donation over the next 2 weeks. All money donated will be used to purchase supplies and building materials from local vendors. Checks can be made out to CCC with a note that it is for “WV Relief”, and an area will be set up in the church lobby to collect the canned goods.
Just as we have done in the past with the tent drive for Haiti and the Ebola supply collection, we are praying we can generously respond to this emergency and help our neighbors in West Virginia. Please spread the word and help us bless others. Let’s see if we can fill one of those trailers with canned goods!
